Happy Halloween, Happy Birthday

Thanks to everyone for the Birthday wishes. It means a lot to me

It's my first one with Ella, she had no clue and did not care (fuzzier than ever) ^_^

Today is a strange birthday indeed, but quite memorable

1. My car was in the shop and let's see - $100 wheel alignment, $180 Tie Rod (RF), and...they wanted 1200+tax to replace all brake pads & rotors. No thanks, not to mention the super late shuttle. Not a good birthday surprise
2. Look at Ella wearing uncle's Old Navy Halloween gift (75% $8), she is a cute butterfly indeed. Let's hope she will fit next year when we take her Trick-or-Treat for the first time
3. Ella is teething, again, and that means lack of sleep for her and us. Tired
4. As we get a week off during Christmas, we decided to book a trip to Washington D.C. Flight from Buffalo to Baltimore/Washington is only $120 USD on Southwest (wow, YYZ is $$$). I also chose a hotel with kitchen, free breakfast & dinner (Residence Inn Marriott) so Wendy can prepare baby food. It shall be fun, and pray for no snowstorm.

Week Recap - Birthday

30th Birthday

• My brother and Cat got me a surprise gift - Brand New Nikon D3100 DSLR camera, THANK YOU. He got it because my D40 fell out of the backpack during LA trip and lens' aperture lever malfunctioned, kudos for free diagnose at Nikon Canada in Mississauga.
• We all went out for birthday dinner at The Keg, using a $50 gift card won in a food bank weight contest.. The Keg's complimentary dessert was tasty!! There were 2 other birthday tables while we were there
• Thanks to all for the birthday wishes. This birthday - I think I have everything I ever wanted ^___^

Winter Is Here

• It is that cold time of the year again, so got my winter tires on
• Putting on the new coat Wendy bought for me in China, thank you honey~

Stratford Festival

• Attended the closing performance of Stratford's As You Like It, it has been a long time since I last watched any Shakespeare's play, and I could barely understand the sentences. Thankfull I studied the storyline beforehand, but I am sure I'll stick to the Musicals and modern plays in future
• 2010 performances attended at Stratford: Peter Pan > Kiss Me, Kate > As You Like It

Weekend Recap, and Happy Birthday to my brother

Saturday
Watched Star Trek - it was really good (I'm a Star Trek fan), gave it 10/10

Dinner at Moxie's Classic Grill SQ1 with friends and brother, using up the $200 Gift Card I acquired earlier for $100 (what a deal). 5 of us, trying very hard, still only managed to eat $180 worth, came home "very" stuffed.

• Drinks - Bellini, Raspberry Kiwi, Ice Tea
• Appetizer - Combo platter
• Entrees - Steak Salad, Sirloin Oscar with Prawns, Land & Sea Grill
• Desserts - Tasting Trio, Bite of Brownie, Blackberry Apple Crisp, Chocolate Espresso Mousse

Sunday
Morning - Tzu Chi park cleaning at Rododandron Gardens from 9 am to 12 pm

Afternoon - Attended the Blue Jays vs KC Royals game, watching Roy Halladay for a complete game 4-0 victory, in 2 hours. Doc becomes the first MLB pitcher to get 10 wins in 2009

I want to dedicate this post to thank my friends at Stratford

Not for just inviting me to a Rock Band party where I sucked, but to bring back good memories and experience friendships that seemed to be sucked out of my life recently with bitterness and frustration.

I liked chatting with everyone, catching up and realize how fast time passed by. No politics, no masks
I think my life is too dark from the way I described it

Anyway, the best part for the last - I got to blow ONE belated birthday candle, on a chocolate brownie.
It's no fancy cake, it's no 28 candles, but I was truly touched with joy. That one candle meant so much ...

Today is Halloween

Today is also my birthday

It's interesting that I have to give out candies on my birthdays to other kids, instead of receiving candies from others. And that all the attentions are on Halloween, instead of my birthday.

Nonetheless, I am thankful I have received many many "Happy Birthday Jerry" from my friends (and strangers :P) and knowing I am not alone is an awesome feeling. Except I am getting old

Happy 97th Birthday, Taiwan 雙十國慶

October 10 (中華民國國慶日) is Taiwan's birthday. And for 2008, Taiwan is now 97 years old. Today celebrates the start of the Wuchang Uprising of October 10, 1911, which led to the collapse of China's Qing Dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China on January 1, 1912
