TRIP - San Francisco, Napa, Pebble Beach

I had the opportunity to visit San Francisco (and Napa, Pebble Beach) on a 4-day family birthday trip

SFO airport
  • Unclear direction signs, and Elevators in corners
  • First time going throuh the Full body scanner. Opting out in future
  • I hated the LONG Air Tran to car rental facility and long line up at counter
  • Long taxis before take-off and after landing
  • United Club lounge has free wi-fi but no decent food at all. I had cookies/mixed nuts for dinner
Friday 7/20 San Francisco
  • Ella woke up at 4 am by herself for the 8 am flight, amazing
  • Landed at SFO and long way to car rental
  • Visited TARGET to buy baby stuff, $100
  • Drove up to Twin Peaks for a panoramic view of San Francisco
  • Leisure walk at Fort Point to view Golden Gate
  • Driving down Lombard St for the experience

Saturday 7/21 San Francisco
  • Morning call 7:30 am for 9 am departure @@
  • Walking up 5 blocks to see Lombard St from down below
  • Walk along Fisherman's Wharf, sea lions, but no boat trip to Alcatraz :(
  • Walk around Palace of Fine Arts
  • Long line into Golden Gate toll plaza, 20 minutes down, and long line to exit again
  • 60th Birthday Dinner!

Sunday 7/22 Napa
  • Morning call 6:45 am for 8:30 am departure >_<
  • Arrived too early and later a bit of wine tasting (average)
  • Lunch onboard the Napa Valley Wine Train (2 hours)
  • Opus One winery self-walk tour $$$$

Monday 7/23 Pebble Beach
  • Morning call 6:30 am for 8 am departure #$^@%$%
  • Driving down to Monterey, Pebble Beach
  • I drove down the 17 miles drive. It wasn't as amazing as I expected, with bad weather too
  • Drove back 2 hours to SFO for my red-eye flight to YYZ (had a row myself)
